CHANGE IT UP

I can count on one hand the number of times I've worn a red lip! I've just never loved the look, but I just got this Lipstick from Sephora as part of my points plus, so I  decided to give it a try. It's from Tarte,  they call it a lip tint, but in reality it's a creamy, chubby pencil. I love the texture and it feels great on, but best of all it doesn't have any type of lipstick taste. I'm still not sold on the red, but I will definitely purchase it in another color.

FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT

I don't contour everyday, because I prefer a super natural makeup look. That being said, I do find the whole concept of conturing to be fascinating. I'm finding as I get older, lighting is everything! This also applies to your makeup, and how makeup/contouring can totally transform your face. The angles of your face are either to be enhanced, or subtly concealed, depending on what look you're trying to achieve. Light pronounces and dark recedes, that's the general rule, but contouring is also about giving the illusion of beautiful lighting hitting your face. The goal is, you want your face to look as if it appears to be lit from within. It's why when you see gorgeous girls, they usually have a glow of light hitting the tops of their cheeks, yet the definition of great bone structure that is often seen along the jaw line, and just under the cheek bone.

Anyway, Just thought you might find this picture interesting of Kim Kardashian's conturing. She is very beautiful naturally, but her conturing is legendary. I do think, at times, her makeup can teeter on the verge of  slightly over done, however this chart is perfect to see all the details of contouring. Just keep it light unless you have a professional like Scott Barnes (genius makeup-artist) working on you.

*FYI  Drag Queens do some of the best contouring/make-up ever! So major props to all divas out there setting the bar. We're just trying to be fabulous too, with just a slightly, more natural look. ;) Keep it cute.

Kim- with no make-up and before she learned about good contouring
Before she worked with the best make-up artist. Bad Contouring.
Stunningly beautiful and natural. Make-up and contouring done right.
Kim is one of the few girls who looks equally as gorgeous blonde as she does brunette. Blonde softens her, but to me she will always be best as a sultry brunette.
How she looks best. Naturally gorgeous.

PICK ME UP

Nothing better than a little Sephora trip. I actually kept myself in check and didn't veer off course too much :) My only impulse buy was the Clinique mascara. It's for your bottom lashes only! I love that. I hate spider lashes as a general rule, but spider lashes on the bottom, they put me in a full-on panic. This mascara has a teeny brush that is perfect for your bottom lashes, or so they say. We shall see!

COLLECTOR

I've been collecting Balenciaga bags for years. I've parted with a few over the years, but these have remained, and aren't ever leaving me!:) Don't ask me to pick my favorite, but my weekender is by far the most used of the bunch. xOx Balenciaga

Always a good day with one of my besties! Thanks for some good old-fashioned inappropriate laughter. ;)
